Hey! These are offensive!

...Oh, wait, they're anti-semetic comics done by Jews themselves.

...Honestly, some of them are funny and some of them aren't. Some of them are -hilarious.- But they're all drawn by jewish people.

I'll never again be able to call someone a jew over the internet and have it mean a bad thing. Not even jokingly. It'd be like calling someone Chuck Norris, who is apparently the new Mr. T.

Oh, and to keep up with new law of stupids, some of those are actually offensive and feature genitals. :{ <p><hr /><div style="text-align:center">Image </div></p>

Mr. T is the new Mr. T.

Chuck Norris is a joke in comparison.

Also: My brain can hardly handle the existence of such things... o.o <p><hr />

Seeing the winning entry was like a punch to the stomach. Reading the commentary on it was something else, too.

<ul>Anouncing the winning cartoon: Fiddler on the Roof by Aron Katz
April 6th, 2006

The five judges have examined the cartoons and have passed their decisions. No one cartoon was a clear winner, so the winner by points is “Fiddler on the Roof” by Aron Katz, 24, from LA, USA. Runners up were “Studio 6” by Ilan Touri, 32, of Sidney Australia, and “Stars” by Andrey Feldshteyn, 56, of Minnesota USA.

Mr Katz has decided to donate the winning prize, 600$. Aron chose two organizations to divide the donation to:

One is Rabbies for Human Rights, an Israeli voluntary group of activists working against violations of human rights and fighting injustice against Palestinians in the occupied territories, and other injustices within Israel. RHR gives voice to the Jewish tradition of human rights, regardless of religion, or ethnic origin. For example, when settlers perform pogroms on their Palestinian farmer neighbors, perventing them from harvesting their olives, RHR organizes Israeli volunteers to harvest the olives with them in order to protect them from settlers’ violence.

The other is American Jewish World Service (AJWS), a Jewish aid agency working to increase awareness about the genocide in Darfur, Sudan and mobilize the North American Jewish community to respond, act and donate.

Said Aron: ” I think today would be an ideal time to announce that the prize money will be going to a charity, and to ask others for their contribution. This contest has a worldwide following and a huge audience, and I think it would fit so well with the purpose of this competition”.

“I would like to split the funds evenly between the RHR and the AJWS. As large and pressing an issue as the Israeli / Palestinian conflict is, I think it is important to remember that racial hatred and genocide are human issues, not just Jewish/Muslim issues.”

The Judges’ comments

All judges have expressed their dissatisfaction by the quality of the cartoons we received.

Two of them, Art Spiegelman and Amos Biderman, refused to select a winning cartoon. Both stated that they think the idea of the contest itself is great, but the cartoon received as an outcome are disappointing, both in their aesthetic and content aspects.

Art Spiegelman chose the cartoon we created as the contest’s logo as the best cartoon in his mind, because it symbolizes the idea of the contest itself. He added that he found many “as blood-curdling as the contest literally asked for; but if one erases the Jewish names below the cartoons they pretty much just reinforce the stereotypes they mock”.

The Organizers

As the organizers of this contest, we are satisfied with the results.
It seems to us that some of the confusion and discomfort of many in the public with the cartoons, regarding the trouble of wether to see them as irony or just “as is”, was reflected in the judges’ comments.

As for us, we found many of the cartoons very funny, and had no trouble finding the ironic wink in them. Eyal’s favorite is the winning cartoon, “Fiddler on the Roof”, and Amitai’s is “The Jew Monster” by Eli Valley, 36, from NYC, depicting the double-pinus Jew.

Eyal and Amitai would like to thank the winners, the judges, all the participants, everybody who took part. This has been an amazing experience for us.

L’chaim!

I swear, those Chuck Norris jokes need to die.
They stopped being funny after the millionth person had said it over the internet like it was THE FUNNIEST SHIT EVER.

Don't get me started on how WoW still clings to it. I've pretty much left the general and looking for group channels because of it.

Yeaah, just alittle bit bitter. <p><div style="text-align:center"><hr />Image

Hey, Sage? I'm sorry, but I need to tell you that every time I read your sig image I see "Lesser Herpes." <p><span style="font-size:xx-small;">"It's in the air, in the headlines in the newspapers, in the blurry images on television. Actually, those Chuck Norris jokes stopped being funny the instant they were first uttered by anyone.

Furthermore, I'm glad the judges thought those cartoons sucked because I had the very same impression. The only two that I could accurately describe as being any form of "enjoyable" are "Stars" and "HITLER was a WAITER".

I'm kind of surprised that one of the crappiest of all the cartoons submitted ended up winning. It's not even a fucking cartoon; it's a lame DeviantArt photomanip trying to pretend to be politically meaningful. I think the fact that that was the winning result of their "points system" or whatever only serves to further insult their little campaign. They probably should have taken their heads out of their asses and chosen a winner themselves, rather than have their contest be represented by that piece of shit.

... is it odd that I find myself more offended by the lack of artistic merit in these cartoons than by the actual anti-semitism? <p><div style="text-align:center">Image</div></p>

While I agree there's far too many (subpar) edits amongst the entries, I have to call bullshit on there not being any quality art amongst the entries. To wit:

[lunk1] | [lunk2] | [lunk3] | [lunk4] | [lunk5] | [lunk6] | [lunk7] | [lunk8]

And my personal favorite, [lunk].

Whatever your thoughts on the relative humor value of the pieces, the art is good. <p><hr /><div style="text-align:center">dictionary.com | encyclopædia dramatica

I consider writing to be an art form as well. And I have to admit that after seeing about half those entries I didn't bother to check the other half, so I haven't actually seen any of those except for Stars and Jew Monster.

I still can't figure out what to feel about that last one. <p><div style="text-align:center">Image</div></p>

It's a bit on the busy side, that's for sure. Political-cartoon style; get as much on the page as you can manage. <p><span style="font-size:xx-small;">"It's in the air, in the headlines in the newspapers, in the blurry images on television. It reminds me of things like da_manly01.png, only, you know. More dense with the sarcasm and bullshittery.

And people still take it seriously. Image Image <p><hr /><div style="text-align:center">dictionary.com | encyclopædia dramatica

He shouldn't of used a car to get there though. A true man would of ran there. Possibilly while wearing broken glass sandles, but more probably bare footed.

That dev entry made me smile. That was great.

On a side note everyone should kill an animal they're going to eat at least once, and stripe it and all. Not for any soul finding purpose mind you, but just because I want to be there and see the face they pull as they skin a rabbit, or cow, or alligator (real man food). <p><div style="text-align:center"> </div>
