Red Steel, a first-person shooter designed exclusively for Nintendo’s new generation console, codenamed Revolution. The game utilizes the unique functionality of the Revolution’s free-hand style controller and challenges players to master a katana, as well as “modern firearms,†as they slice, dice and shoot their way through modern-day Japan.</ul>Sounds like something Brian was talking about at one time--using the controller as the hilt of the sword and whatnot.

E3 2006: DS Opera browser screenshots
Browse the net in style on the DS
We've gotten our hands on some screens of the upcoming Opera' browser for the Nintendo DS, so you can have a peek at the first Nintendo based web-surfing. It will come on a standard DS card, and as soon as the DS is within range of a Wi-fi signal, off you go googling to your hears content. "The incredibly popular Nintendo DS is already Wi-Fi enabled to support real time gaming, so adding Web browsing capabilities was a natural evolution for this device," said Scott Hedrick, Executive Vice President, of Opera Software. "Gaming devices are growing more advanced and a great Web experience is becoming a product differentiator for gaming manufacturers. Opera is excited to work with Nintendo to deliver a unique dual screen, full Internet experience on Nintendo DS."
The screens show the expected on-screen keypad, and combined with the mouse-like abilities of the stylus, Browsing on the DS will be at least as good as any PDA. It's based on the same core as the Opera desktop browser, and Opera promises to deliver the best speed and rendering of Web pages on a handheld device. "Within just five seconds of turning on the system, the Nintendo DS is already fully operational. This makes it the ideal device to enable people to swiftly obtain the latest information from the internet, wherever they are," said Masaru Shimomura of Nintendo's R & D Department. "Opera exceeded our expectations with its user friendly interface, quick access to all your favorite sites, ease of use and, most importantly, in making the best use of the Nintendo DS system's unique double screens and touch screen features. Opera is an important partner for Nintendo in our efforts to further expand the users of the Nintendo DS."

E3 2006: Opera browser also on Wii
Surf the web on your couch using the remote.
Opera has confirmed that they will follow up their DS browser with one for Nintendo's new home console, the Wii. Previous efforts to put the internet on TVs have been patchy at best, usually because of clumsy interfaces or the necessity to purchase a special keyboard and mouse. But with the motion sensing laser pointer-like Wii controller as standard, this one just might have a chance at being useful, especially for pages specifically designed to be browsed by the Wii.
"Nintendo is clearly a visionary in leading the gaming industry into the new era in gaming" said Opera CEO, Jon von Tetzchner."We are thrilled to expand our partnership with Nintendo, and work with them to deliver the best gaming experience on the Wii console and the Nintendo DS(TM)." A Nintendo spokesperson called the Opera browser "an exceptional addition to both the Nintendo DS and the Wii console."
Opera's browser for DS is scheduled for release in Japan in a few weeks as a separate product, but will the Wii version come pre-loaded? No launch date was announced, so more as we get it!
