Mother, oh mother, my heart falls earthbound to you

There are probably many of you who already know, or who just don't care about this but as I do care and have been following it for ages, I am, like, linking it in case no one here knows about it who should so happen to like the news.

Mother 3
Strange, Funny and Heartrendering

Translated from Japlish by the lads and lasses at Starmen.net

There's a MP3 for download, some pretty cruddy wallpapers and plenty of screenshots to enjoy. According to the last present given the games split into chapters, including one where you play a monkey, a dream of many a child I'm sure. The monsters are very odd indeed. The release is in 10 days and such. I am a total idiot and decided playing it in Japanese would be a laugh, so have it on preorder and stuff! Yay for RPG's in a different language, cause everyone knows thats a good idea!

<- Moron.

Anywho for fun and frolics a couple of other Earthbound related links just so this has CONTENT!

I just rushed from the site where I found it to here to tell what you've just told.

Earthbound... one of the best (and most likely the funniest) RPGs ever made. JOY AND RAPTURE! *rapturegasm*

I'm very happy that they've not scrapped all the ideas they had for the 64 Mother 3. The battle music was awesome supremo.

Indeed, it seems that this is the Mother 3 that was coming out before but put into the little joy of a console of GBA, my favorite portable snes handheld ever.

Apprently in the Earthbound 64 game timing the shots with the music would of added power to the attacks.. or.. something. Not sure exactly how it was meant to work. Wonder how well it'll translate to the GBA? If they try to do that.

Personally I'm looking forward to controlling a Cowboy! =D Will he replace my current advantar? Time will tell! Yay for Cowboys!!

If anyone spoils ANYTHING I will rip their head off and shove it up their anus.

Assuming the two aren't one and the same, of course. In that case I'll just light it on fire.

One wonders if the 4/20 release date was intended.

Anyone care for some coffee and cake?

To be boring 'n stuff!

Starmen on the 4/20 release date has this to say:
RUMOR: Mother 3 is being released on 4/20 because Itoi likes drugs or because it's Hitler's birthday! Groovy!

FACT: Mother 3 is being released on 4/20 because it's during one of the busiest shopping weeks in Japan. The very next week is known as "Golden Week", which is a week-long vacation for pretty much everyone throughout Japan. Many other games are being released on 4/20 in Japan, including:

Final Fantasy XI: Aht Urhgan no Hihou
Final Fantasy XI: All-In-One Pack 2006
Dragon Quest: Shounen Yangus no Fushigi na Daibouken
Dragon Ball Z: Shin Budokai
Soleil Puzzle Douwa Oukoku
Tsubasa Chronicle Vol. 2
Zoo Tycoon: Doubutsuen o Tsukurou!
Iris (2800 Collection)
Natsuyume Yobanashi (2800 Collection)
Omoi no Kakera: Close to (2800 Collection)
Ookami
Rakugaki Oukoku 2 (Taito Best)
Shooting Love: Trizeal
Minna no Chizu
Myst
Ninety-Nine Nights

Clearly, these aren't all drug-related either. The week before Golden Week is a prime week for shopping since many stores and businesses shut down during Golden Week itself.

As for purposely trying to coincide it with Hitler's birthday... that's just dumb.

... or IS it? Dun dun duuuuun!

Well it was! From Gamespot

Quote:
TOKYO--Two of Sega's anticipated spring titles will see a delay in Japan. The company today announced it will push back the release of Chromehounds for Microsoft's Xbox 360 from May 25 to June 29, and Myst for Sony's PlayStation Portable from April 20 to June 15. Sega has said the extra time is being used to make sure the games meet quality standards. No North American release dates for either game have been announced.

Seems they myst the release date though.

Haha, Myst. The game that just won't die, even if they officially 'ended' the series.

Anyway, hooray, Earthbound! Let's just make sure it actually comes to the States!

Curtis: Dannyboy, look at you. You've changed considerably, into a badass, if I may.
Dan: Yeah, you've changed a lot too, into an old man! I went to see the devil, now it's your turn!
Curtis: Oh, my pupil, so tenacious of life, guess I have to kill you again.
Dan: Shut up, before you run out of breath!
Curtis: I got rid of those smiles, there's no one left to disturb our game. Just you, and me.
Dan: Sounds fair, 'cuz I hate holding back, even for an old fart like yourself.
Curtis: Talk all you want, I won't need six bullets for you.
Dan: Or four for you.

Tis out in Japan now, by the by.

There's a Japanese ROM floating around the net somewhere as well... However as a sucker who actually ordered the game I'll be utterly disgusted with you if you get it and play the game before me!

But JOYS!

Also Cowboys! The game has cowboys so is therefore vastly greater then Earthbound already!

If there doesn't end up existing an accurate summary of the plot that can fit within that template, Zem, we shall have words. >:

Earthbound oh Earthbound, my heart falls MOTHER to you

Unread postby Choark » Thu Apr 20, 2006 2:06 pm

At Work So Punch Points To Do Quickly:

It's colouful! So very pretty in its own way.

Kind of graphics I like.

Music is fun and blongy.

There's a story, a lot more then I remember Earthbound having.

Goes from funny, to weird, to very serious in places which is the best mix ever.

Been a couple of neat little touches of magic here and there which I would tell you about but better people find out themselves. Little things really but it makes a nice whole.

I can't do the battle combo system at all. My timing in music games was normally pretty darn good but without any visual cues or anything my ass is getting kicked. Highest combo is 3... Highest possible is apprently 16.

Running is great but took me a while to get used to. You hold B then let go, then you're running and can change directions at will. To stop running you press B again.

The Text is Japanese but at least you can name things in English!

No DQ like menu system when you press a button, like Check, Equip, Talk n stuff.

Cowboy!!

Freaking Cowboy!

Adjusts his hat all cool like too!

First impressions:

Yay I got the game!

Yay the game plays well!

HA ha ha ha eheheheheh!

Oh God WHY!? NOOOOOOO!! AARRGGH *sobs*

How many battle musics are there!?

...

I'm going to buy this game again if it comes out in English aren't I? Ho hum

Or simply: I like the game!
