This is the original game that was played at Cornell. START THE GAME AT YOUR COLLEGE.

Seriously. Look into it. It's hilarious.

DISCUSS.

You're going to be really disappointed if you think this sort of thing is the norm at most universities.

Image

Bah. It totally is. You're just trying to deceive me, you fiend.

It should be noted that the lobby of my sister's dorm hall at UMD is decorated with an awesome video game motif, including a gigantic and properly-pixellated Fire-Flower Luigi from Super Mario Bros on one wall and Pac-Man between the elevators. I'm so jealous. I want to live there.
-_-___-___-___-_-

I like the idea, but it'd be a hell of a thing to try to do anywhere that's not a (fairly tolerant/open minded) stay-on-campus college.

Kudos to the guys who put it together.

Image

Well, seeing how I'm in one at my college, I'll tell you first hand, if you willingly participate for an hour a day to randomly hunt zombies or hunt humans, it's just a fun/silly thing to do, and pretty good exercise. While it might not be a norm, it has been normal to do these things, but under a different name like "assassin" which is rather popular. Also if the game is sanctioned at all by the school, you can offer prizes if you can survive til the end of the game.

Edit: It's also better than all the illegal drugs and underage drinking that are to be had at EVERY college.

Also, I thought it was about this. How cruelly disappointed I was!
-----

It's kind of scary how quickly those zombies can take over a city considering how much slower they are than the humans. Although it's funny to watch one lone human scared shitless and running around like crazy smack-dab in the middle of a zombie hive.

Also, I'd be surprised if most colleges with students that live on-campus didn't have some kind of communnity time-killing diversion like this. Our Mike has some pretty good war stories.

It depends on a wide number of factors, really. Tech and engineering schools are particularly notorious for coming up with wacky ways to relieve stress and play community games of this nature (see MIT). My university's environment is pretty chill, but it's a boring midwestern college with a pretty campus and that's about it. While I'm sure you could do something like this, last I checked no one would put the effort into it (or has).

Image

I would set this up, but alas, I'm only on campus three days a week anyways. I would be disqualified rather quickly. :(

Well, seeing how it's just a huge game of tag, but with nerf guns involved, it's quite fun.

...What's not fun is with Freshman D&D players think we're LARPing and take the game infinitely more seriously...And thus weasel themselves out of being caught.
