No problem. 46.

I do say their logic is a little faulty, though. The questions about text messaging and such are somewhat counter-geeky, because it implies an extensive social life, which I had thought to be ungeeklike. <p><span style="font-size:xx-small;">"It's in the air, in the headlines in the newspapers, in the blurry images on television. It doesn't matter unless you ascended.

According to their cell phone and text messaging questions, Japanese schoolgirls must be some of the geekiest people on the planet. <p><hr />

Yeah...I thought the text messaging/phone pictures questions were a bit excessive. I think that screwed up my score quite a bit.

Honestly, if someone's spent years playing Nethack without ascending, either they've just been poking around at it without making a solid run (perfectly reasonable as that can be fun as well in a sandboxy game such as Nethack!), they've had one of the worst strings of bad luck I've ever encountered, or they are masochistically adamant on avoiding spoilers.

...says the person that's never ascended. With Zero, Pervy, and now Brian I am really tempted to get back into it myself. <p><hr />

...I got a 47, what the hell.

I am also saddened by the lack of 'GBA/DS' as one of the choices for the game systems for the desert island question. <p>--------------------

Aparently you're not a geek if you don't use your cellphone for the internet religously, wasting money that could be used on valuable ramen and videogames. Furthermore, aparently you're not a geek unless you use the most current, mainstream technology as advertised on your idiot box, which most geeks stopped watching years ago.

Conclusion: MSNBC is the dumb. ... Wait, we know that already.

also: 47

Edit: There, about time.

We all know deserted islands have cable internet access!
So WoW is the most logical choice, you know.

So some of the choices were "mmmmeh" at best.

I should play Nethack again. I recall enjoying it when PErvy showed me... It's just the commands confuse me sometimes. <p><div style="text-align:center"><hr />Image

You mean in favor of downloading, I assume, Bes? Because if you mean eschewing TV altogether, I can name 5 or 6 shows offhand that I would claim as definitely geeky, or at the least geek-alluring. <p><hr />

I got a 40.

The funny part is, my decidedly un-geeky sister would get a higher rating than me, probably, because of her constant hip electronics use, as would the girl in my D&D group who pretends that she doesn't even know what D&D is until she's at the gaming table, because she thinks it'll make her look like a geek. <p>-_-___-___-___-_-

So... I'm imagining the gist of what people are saying here is that an online poll sucks?

I am truly shocked at this.

Technically, but I'm pretty sure the gist of this thread is that people are humorously commenting that the poll sucks rather than acting like it's some big surprise. So I'm not sure what you mean. <p><hr />
