Kingdom Hearts just doesn't sit right with me, but from my research, the Persona/DDS/Whatever games are kickin' rad and straight up your alley.

I've never played any of the Suikoden games, and if I were to do so, I'd probably try to start with the first one. Which'd leave me with four more games to play through after that. And I don't have the time, because time is money. And I like money.

Understand?

I say the Persona games. Because I have a general distaste for Disney.
"DO YOU THINK YOU CAN DEFEAT US? OUR TREASURE MAY BE HEAVY, BUT WE ARE LIGHT AS WIND. ONLY MAGICS MAY HURT US, BUT ONLY WE KNOW WHICH ONES." --Omoikane, Digital Devil Saga 2

That's because you're silly and prejudiced.

Persona 2 is a very good game, with a lot of systemic depth to mess with. I'm still working on it myself, or will be again soon.

Kingdom Hearts II is, from what I have seen, also quite fun. I just wish my roommate would fucking turn off the PS2 every now and again and go get a fucking job.
"It's in the air, in the headlines in the newspapers, in the blurry images on television. I've been playing through Kingdom Hearts teh original. I started it a long time back, but couldn't figure out what on Mickey's hairy backside to do next. And since it really wasn't fun enough to warrant actually figuring it out on my own, I dropped it for awhile. Until my friend loaned me her strategy guide. It's not a bad game, it's a mediochre game. The countless cameos are always fun, if for novelty value only. Graphically, they're well portrayed, but their performances are uninspired and eventually just become uninteresting. Combat is both the game's best and worst feature...while their concepts are brilliant, it just ends up being monotonous and unmotivating. It plays like Dynasty Warriors, except instead of killing hundreds of stupid Chinese warriors, I'm killing only a few of the same irritating heartless over and over again within the span of a single chapter. All that and...well I just don't give a damn about Disney either way. A lot of children of our generation seem to have been raised both by Disney and their parents' shortcomings. Stick your kid in front of the TV, problem solved. While I was not always given a lot of attention, I did have a fair repertoire of things to do, from play games, watch cable, go out and act like a raving lunatic, etc. I just noticed the contrast between me and other kids while I grew up, and I can't help but feel like I'm one one of the people who's enthusiastic about the series. I'll admit, KH2 looks to improve on the combat and visuals, and bring in even more rad characters. I won't buy it, but I'll definitely borrow it from my friends who do.

And uh...Persona is definitely one of those sleeper hits. In fact it may be even more under the radar than that. I haven't heard much about it, except that it's weird, but intriguing, and worth playing if the chance is had. Definitely a psychological RPG. Like Saga Frontier, except less mind-boggling.

Image

Okay, kids!

I picked up Persona II since it's about the only chance ever that someone would trade in such a game, whereas KH will always be around.

And I must say PII is pretty badass. Contacting/negotiating with enemies, spreading rumors and having them come true, the "Joker" plot, the *spoiler spoiler spoiler*, and the 'real world' setting make the whole thing pretty damned cool. Now I wanna play the other Personas.
