Insane question...

Unread postby Spleen » Mon Mar 20, 2006 10:32 pm

I was thinking about Videoland MUSH today (I'm vaguely considering starting up again, probably as Nyphur the Outcast from Magic Carpet II, once I get the two RPs I'm starting going at a decent and manageable clip) and I was thinking how much it kind of sucks that there's nothing like it for, say, books.

So I got to thinking, and I came up with this crazy question for you guys:

If there was a MUSH that allowed you to roleplay as any character from the entire history of fiction, be it video games, movies, TV, books, ancient mythology, urban legend, etc., and you could (and would) apply to play as any ten characters, who would you choose (in priority order)? <p>-_-___-___-___-_-

Ten is a very large number. <p><span style="font-size:xx-small;">"It's in the air, in the headlines in the newspapers, in the blurry images on television. It is a secret you have yet to grasp, although the first syllable has been spoken in a dream you cannot quite recall." --Unknown Armies</span></p>

Yeah, I would be willing to do one or two or three, but ten is too much I mean really Spleen have you no respect for the busy schedules of others?

Come on, Spleen, if you wanted to try and bribe people into playing Videoland with you, you could have at least said it outright.

Also Agent 3DO was, as of like two years ago, an old acquaintence of mine. Tell him 'hot hot Fuchi on Mint akton.'

He'll know exactly what you mean. <p><hr />

<span style="font-size:xx-small;">"Their rhetoric... You didn't put communists in his bed did you!" came Amber's indignant reply.

"Why not? All I had to do was open a gate to his bed and stick up a sign saying 'Hot virgin willing to make the ultimate sacrifice in the name of international socialist fraternity.'"</span>

<span style="color:blue;font-size:xx-small;">Excaliburned:</span> <span style="font-size:xx-small;">Ah yes, I'm thinking of having the USS Bob be preserved outside the Arena as a monument of sorts</span></p>

Message delivered, E-mouse!

He wonders if you still hate him and says he has outgrown about 85% of his fanboy urge.

Annnnnnd I don't gotta answer the questions! Hah!

Now in favor of getting other people to answer, let's cut the top ten down to a top FOUR or something.

Edit: Oh, yeah, come to Videoland blah blah blah etc. we have pie. <p>--------------------

Hell, I don't even have time to play the ONE videogame character that I RP on an RO server that I'm supposed to be paying attention to. And I blame Pervy.

Also, I don't really know any urban legends or historical fiction. <p><span style="font-size:xx-small;">"It's in the air, in the headlines in the newspapers, in the blurry images on television. I would be Gilbert Bland, and I would make navigating MUSHes even more impossible.

Okay so like, I'd have this 80's style sentai fivesome with samurai stylings. The red one would be a young Donnie Yen, and he would do his own bad dubbing. The Blue one would be Ishida Uryuu from Bleach, but he would always have wardrobe malfunctions because they don't let him sew his costumes. The yellow one would be Alex Chiu. The Pink one would be Mary Kate Olsen, but the other members would always call her Ashley, and she'd always quit the team at the end of every episode. Lastly, the black one would be Andy Dick, who's only purpose is comic relief through repeated physical abuse and sightgags. The brain behind them back at HQ would be Captain Kangaroo wearing a cloaking jumpsuit so that it looks like nothing but his disembodied head floating around. Lastly, Peabody and Sherman would always be hanging around the base trying to get them to go back in time with them, saying "Safety is not guaranteed." <p><div style="text-align:center"><hr />Image</div></p>

Oh come on, navigating MUSHes isn't impossible. All you have to do is check, uh, really long boring help files! Yeah.

Honestly, I like MUDs more. Even if they are just yet another MMO :(

For my part:

1. Nyphur from Magic Carpet II, because he's evil and badass and a spider wizard.

2. Batman. Because, seriously, it's Batman.

3. Samuel Vimes, Duke of Ankh-Morpork and Commander of the Ankh-Morpork City Guard from the Discworld series.

4. T<span style="font-size:xx-small;">HE</span> D<span style="font-size:xx-small;">EATH OF </span>D<span style="font-size:xx-small;">ISCWORLD.</span>

5. Naota, from FLCL. I want to be disaffected, frustrated, and have robots come out of my head.

6. Aximili-Esgarrouth-Isthill, from Animorphs. He's awesome and he turns into shit.

The following should need no explanation:
7. Mojo Jojo.

8. Bender.

9. Zaphod Beeblebrox.

10. Ender Wiggin. <p>-_-___-___-___-_-

2. Skeptopotomus

3. Puss in Boots

4. Zorro

5. Liu Bang

6. Bluebeard

7. Davy Jones

8. Johnny Jones

9. Captain Ahab

10. Jonah

Hm! Interesting. All of that being said, Videoland sort of has a sister MUSH that allows...well, pretty much anything. Books, comics, TV, video games, original characters, and so on.

Sadly, Spleen, we've already got a Mojo Jojo.
And a Lord Vetinari.

Talkin' about GateMUSH, yo.

Currently there's a huge Bleach cast but plenty of other stuff, from Cobra Commander to members of the Doom Patrol.

ADDITIONALLY, in regards to having a Vimes around, Vetinari says:
<Public> The Illuminated Havelock Vetinari says, "HELL YES." <p>--------------------

Hah! I didn't know about this. Maybe some time, but probably not soon. Lot of stuff on my plate right now, what with an Elemaer RP and a D&D campaign starting up on the board, plus a summer job search and reading lots and lots of Forgotten Realms. <p>-_-___-___-___-_-
