Zee past has zee habit of catching up to you, yes?

Unread postby Choark » Wed Mar 01, 2006 11:38 am

BEHOLD! My Childhood computer heroes! Or just some random C64 games I link for no reason!

Image

Image

Clyde freakin' Radcliff!

Image

Dizzy! The boxing glove wearing egg! Word!

Image
Seymour.. the Potatoe with gloves... We sure could think of those characters back then!

Image

He's cute, he's yellow, hes a dinosaur! Mayhem!

Image

He's cute, he's yellow and he flies a UFO with a laser cannon! Kewi!

Image

Monty the Mole! That scared poor little mole that dies an awful lot when in my control.

Image
Bub and Bob, the adoreable dragon .. things.. that blow bubbles. Least these cute ones look better then those DS remake things...

Image
Bub and Bob again, this time as humans with star rainbow powers and a cute remake of "Somewhere over the rainbow"

Image
Finally the evil Jack the Nipper. Where the whole purpose of the game was to cause mischief and evilness until they deported you.

But mostly Clyde Radcliff! What a Fuzzy Wuzzy! A hero to me he is. He partied so hard his bad breath turned to fire. Fire, dun dun duuuuun, lets him burn!

And you know what, they just don't make games like that no more!

Note: Sorry about this but the need to be rather random smacked me in the head and I was thinking of these people just this morning. Also all art came from http://www.lemon64.com/ reliving the old days.

Holy shit, Jack the Nipper looks fucking terrifying. That kid has a positively demonic look on his face.

Also, points for Bubble Bobble and other, related, obscure Taito games!

I am glad to hear that for two reasons! And one of them is that I'm glad I'm not the only one who fears this demonic one year old.

Look at him. Plotting. And the worst thing is, is that he is! And its evil. I based a couple of Jenna's Hi-jinxs off of his eviliness.

Second - now I know he'll make a good boss. *nod nod*

Pedophile. :(

Ah Codemasters, one of the few 'unlicensed' Nintendo game makers that could put out semi-decent games. =[

Two points!

One: Mus has apparently broken Cho. This is amusingsome.

Two: I demand more hot Bubble Bobble action. Preferably when they're dragons and, you know, not frightening prepubescent children.
And I totally don't mean it in that way. Don't make me punch you in the face.

How about RODLAND! instead. Cause it was awsome as you were two young fairies pounding enemies into the ground with ya rod all to save ya mother!

Or even WONDER BOY! about a young male riding around on his skateboard or swinging his big weapon around those monsters and stuff!!

Heheh. Rodland.

Good lord. The illustrations on the Master System games sure were horrible!

Seriously, this old stuff does look pretty class. I'm vaguely familiar with Wonderboy, though. I don't think I liked it all that much.

Holy shit, I've actually played TGX-16 Dragon's Lair.

I feel slightly more hardcore now.

Well I don't know if I can ever forgive you for not liking Wonderboy. One year on Holiday it was this, Rastan and Space Harrier that showed me what true arcade gaming was! I was a little young but the memories!

If Wonder boy isn't to your liking hows RYGAR!?!?!

And everyone must of enjoyed TWINBEE at least once in there life!

I'm amazed that no one has made the connection between Jack the Nipper and Stewie from Family Guy yet.

Also, I feel slightly more awesome for having played Wonderboy and Rygar now. Somehow...appeased.

Image

Stewie sounds more "proper" and is probably more intelligent too. Jack is just naughty through and through but doesn't make his own gadgets. Instead uses things like rollerskates, bombs, peashoots, rifle and automobiles to mess we people.

Messing with people includes releasing all the inmates in a jail, blowing up a school, burning the police officers and shoot poison darts at a woman holding a pram at the top of the hill, causing pram and baby to go doooowwwwnnnnn.

Such a lovely child.

Yeah, the worst Stewie has done is try to kill his mother. Repeatedly.

He could've done much worse. Being frozen in carbonite ain't that bad.

Wait, he also left a bomb in his mother's uterus. That counts for something.
