As was true of the previous game, there is, at least, one character whose sheer badassery/awesomeness far outclasses the reast and actually makes the game somewhat tempting for me. <p><div style="text-align:center">Image</div></p>

sorry to be the one to say this, but, since the real actors are busy filming the new potc movie, they'll use regular voice actors for their KH roles. <p><div style="text-align:center"> <span style="color:fuchsia;font-family:comic sans ms;font-size:large;">LAMBO SWIMS LIKE A BRICK!!</span>

As someone on the GHZ board said, KHII will basically be a fanwank.

Mulan, The Lion King, Tron, Pirates of the Caribbean, a B&W level, and the like.

If they actually throw in characters from the older FFs (by which I mean 6 and below) I'll be surprised. <p><hr />

He's it for non-PS FF games. From what I've heard, Vivi will indeed been there, as well as Fujin and Raijin, Seifer, and that whole FF7 crew (and I think they're adding Tifa this time 'round). Haven't heard anything about Tidus, Wakka and Selphie. Presumably, they stayed dead.

Go buy the latest issue of EGM for all the details. Now! GO! BEFORE I START WEEPING UNCONTROLLABLY! <p><hr />

I can pretty much confirm all of this. Someone from VL got it imported and stuff. The only exception is the Setzer thing, but I can ask her about that later. <p>--------------------

In case anyone's curious, the black & white level that was mentioned will be based on one of Disney's original animations, "Steamboat Willie".

And even though I knew about the PotC bit being in the game, now I'm starting to wonder what a Black Pearl Keyblade would look like. <p>--

Okay, first. Cho's horrible misspelling of 'definitely' that ended up being the correct spelling of 'defiantly' makes me giggle madly. *giggles, madly!*

Second, so what if it is a fanwank? So is every DBZ game ever, and some of them are pretty fun, and KH itself was a pretty fanservicey piece on its own--but damn do I enjoy playing it. So I'll probably get KH2 at some point, unless I hear some exceedingly horrible stories about battle mechanics gone wrong or something. As it stands, it looks like it could kick a lot of ass. <p><span style="font-size:xx-small;">"It's in the air, in the headlines in the newspapers, in the blurry images on television. Because I adnore Kingdom Hearts! And Fanwanking is what its all about. <p><div style="text-align:center"> </div>

Other than the fact that the gameplay didn't interest me at all, I think the thing that bothers me the most about KH is that Disney knows how to embrace their oldschool about 10,000 times better than Square does. Practically the entire cast of FF7, and one character from all the games that came before it? What the fuck is that? <p><div style="text-align:center">Image</div></p>

In all fairness, there may be some links to Nintendo in the weird copyrighting shit that goes on. <p><span style="font-size:xx-small;">"It's in the air, in the headlines in the newspapers, in the blurry images on television. Also I love the game play in Kingdom Hearts but opinion only

Unread postby Choark » Tue Feb 28, 2006 2:18 pm

Well Square made it so they probably cared more about doing Disney characters then they did there own. Get in something newish for them to use... plus the game is basically based around going to different disney movies - not going to squaresoft games. Plus they also probably wanted to choose the more popular characters from there games in America. And unforantly for most of you/us/other-people most people tended to like FF7 to 10 a lot more then any of the ones that came before them. This is also probably why 7 is getting so many sequeals and suchlike.

Thats just a theory mind. <p><div style="text-align:center"> </div>

choark, the link does not direct you towards the spoilers, there is lots of non-spoiled info in bot sites.

anyway, the reason why no EXTREMELY old school square characters are in is, if im not mistaken, the director of the game (the main square guy who's name escapes me...Nomura or something like that) didn't want to include FF characters he DID NOT CREATE, but added setzer and vivi because of fan pressure. <p><div style="text-align:center"> <span style="color:fuchsia;font-family:comic sans ms;font-size:large;">LAMBO SWIMS LIKE A BRICK!!</span>

Square had no issues with rereleasing FF4, FF5, and FF6 on the PS. So why would there be any issues concerning copyrights and those games in particular?

And Glu's post makes sense. Still sucks, though. I'd love to see Gogo again! <p><hr />

That's fair. Kain would be pretty neat, too, I think.

As a silly idea, going 'back' to the FF world would be pretty funny, too. Plain, few-colors graphics; square houses laid out on a grid, big signs saying "INN", people pacing back and forth. Could be fun; I'm immediately remembering the SQ1 segment of Space Quest 4 as a comparison. <p><span style="font-size:xx-small;">"It's in the air, in the headlines in the newspapers, in the blurry images on television.
