Warning: Gravity is “Only a Theory”

I now offer undeniable proof that gravity DOES NOT EXIST.

(the secularists like to use confusing language)

The US Patent Office has never issued a patent for anti-gravity. Why is this?

It is far more likely that tides were given us by an Intelligent Creator long ago and they have been with us ever since.

Yes, because something being a theory (Which Gravity isn't) means it doesn't exist (Which it does, either way.)

SMOOTH MOVE, LOSER.

I lost interested when the author claimed universal gravity can't exist because the moon rotates around the earth instead of the sun. It's either satire, or stupidity.

I'm kinda too tired to care right now though. :{ Onoes, party poop.

Edit: Also, techincally Gravity is a thoery. Most things in science are theory. However, the likelyhood of our finding a better explanation is reasonable minute. Hence, we feel safe calling these theories "facts".

I am reasonably certain that, based on the accounts and information provided by other people, that I was born from my mother's womb. However, I can't prove it. So that is, in the same spirit, a thoery. Until someone proves that it is in fact more likely that I was grown in a test tube to pwoer them atrix, I can continue believing this and state it to be a "fact". :o

And I'm still tired. But I'm also watching a 4 year old. So eh.

It's clearly parody, but being parody does not automagically make something funny :(

Bes is pretty much right, but for further clarification, there is a theory of gravity and there is a law of gravity. The law of gravity describes what gravity is. The theory of gravity describes how gravity works. This usage of law and theory is entirely how such terms are defined in the hard sciences. Law = definition, theory = explanation, and the word theory has no connotations in science as to how "proven" something is or not.

Yeah, Idran has the right of it. There are, notably, very few laws in science--gravity and the three laws of thermodynamics are pretty much it, as far as I can think.

Lots of things that are commonly accepted as facts, naturally, are scientifically noted as theories. Our entire model for how chemicals interact with one another is a theory, for example. Most of science is a construction intended to represent the way we think something works.

Gravity IS only a theory. It's a term used to identify a phenomenon that is common enough to merit jargon. The laws and theories about Gravity are speculations based upon predicting its behavior- the most durable and most accepted parts of the entire theory-group don't really say ANYTHING about what Gravity IS, just how it WORKS. Trying to refute that and ignoring the math behind it is kind of self-defeating. It's attacking an idea on grounds that it doesn't cover.

Intelligent Designers are being silly when they fight science since it is so much easier to say "It's like this because that's how it's set up by (Insert Divine Authority)- it has been set up to follow these laws and the like which we delineate and discover with continuing scientific progress. The more we delve into (Insert Divine Authority)'s mysteries, the more we see how complex and beautiful the universe is." As opposed to saying "Nuh-uh! There are no laws of physics!"

Other scientific laws- Conservation laws (Mass, Energy, Momentum, et cetera).

Intelligent Design would be so much more VIABLE if they took science and used it as opposed to fighting science's basis, using sicnece as proof of their own belief system as opposed to pulling out the bible and saying "this says you're wrong."
[---------------------------]
