Holy crap EARTHBOUND/MOTHER 2 IS GETTING A SEQUAL!

Yes, the site is very informative.

Your mission, should you chose to accept it, is to speculate why the logo is turning into WOOD. Go! <p>--------------------

This was announced a year ago and I still refuse to get excited until I see some screenshots proving that it isn't going to be a rhythm game.

Game Boy Advance. Why not DS? <p><span style="font-size:xx-small;">"It's in the air, in the headlines in the newspapers, in the blurry images on television. I'd actually be able to play it if it's for GBA, that's why. <p>

Because the GBA is still a viable system for game release; why, the new Halloween Themed Bearenstain Bears game came out for it just recently!

Does it really matter? DS can play GBA games anyways.

That and my reason is similar to FDeths. :O

EDIT: I also see no wood-to-metal speculation. GET TO IT. <p>--------------------

And why would it be on DS? DS isn't _replacing_ GBA. Nintendo has been using DS as a third tier of systems rather than sticking with just one console and one portable.

Besides, I'd rather see it on GBA than have them force in some useless second-screen gimmick just so they can move it. (As far as I know it's been in development since before the DS came out; this isn't DS-whining, just a comment that it didn't start out as planned for two screens and so there's no need to add in a second screen of functionality.) <p>

They could make it so the top screen is a Starman and a Mr. Saturn frolicing on a trippy background.

WOOD TO METAL SPECULATION BELOW.

Maybe it's got something to do with cybernetics? Like at the end of Earthbound, where <SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER>.

Also: If they release it here as Mother 3, I predict someone will become confused by the name. <p>-_-___-___-___-_-

If they release it as Earthbound 2, someone here will be confused because not enough people remember Earthbound. <p>[---------------------------]

If they want to avoid confusion, they'd release it under the title: "Bad LSD trip 4: Legend of Saturn!"

...actually, iffin' they really wanted to avoid confusion totally, they wouldn't have made the game to begin with.

Yeah, I don't see where that even enters into it. If that would keep them from doing something, why would they have included Ness in the SSB series in the first place? At worst, it will increase the market for the original Earthbound(s) to be released here because people's curiosity will be piqued. <p>

What, you mean like the first one?

Also, I fucking hate those tree dudes in Earthbound. They always explode when you kill them and deal huge damage to everyone. Bastards. <p><div style="text-align:center">Image</div></p>

Should it not get released in America, I'm going to fucking import it and read a fucking translation script.

Also exploding enemies = suck. <p>--------------------

The first one was just upsetting. They translated Mother, they gave it new content to make it somewhat easier to play, they even put together a prototype cart, and then the whole thing was dropped. :(

Good thing that cart was leaked, at least. <p>
