Dark and Light Game

POST COPIED FROM MY WONDER THREAD ON SA:

Wow, another fantasy MMORPG? Open Beta starts November~

It seems pretty generic, stylistically, but there's some genuinely groovy ideas, and the game should be tip-top so long as they don't leave a whole lot out. I can't help but think how great it'd be to have a gang of ~*RPGWWERS*~ sledding down a snowy mountain on their shields, and then assaulting some unsuspecting folks. Also, there's hang-gliding and rail-cars and stuff, too. Transportation is important, as the game-world is pretty huge, (No server lines/loading times from place to place), and you can see the horizon a huge distance away. There's two XP meters, both Combat and Social, so you don't need to devote one character to crafting/politics only. Also, there's only gonna be one super-server behind the game, so you won't have to have to immigrate from server to server to beat up orcs and whatnot with your friends.

So, anyone else excited/apathetic/brimming with character concepts? Anyone in the Beta already? Think that the game will never live up to its goals? Let's hear it.

Yeah, so, discuss or whatever :( I want RPGWWers to play with!

I remain far less enthusiastic about this than you are, matey. :[

Doesn't mean I won't join you for some free skull-caving action, though. :D

I'd like to play, get to about level 20, and quit like I do with all my MMORPGs!

Unfortunately, I think my computer sucks too much for me to. <p>

One must ask what other good uses your soul has.

SOULALITY!

Furthermore: The concept of "social experience" interests me almost as much as sledding down a slope on a shield amuses me. I still don't think I'll be playing this, though. Maybe just a teensy little bit like I usually do with these games. Just enough to get pissed off at it, and just enough so that I understand cheesy internet humor based on it. <p><div style="text-align:center">Image</div></p>Edited by: [url=http://p068.ezboard.com/brpgww60462.showUserPublicProfile?gid=brainwalker>BrainWalker</A]&nbsp; Image at: 10/18/05 12:25

I have come to realize that MMORPGs are, in fact, made for people who are not me. This is regrettable, considering a lot of them have had some great things going for them. Also, I do not pay money for things. This is also regrettable. <p><span style="font-size:xx-small;">"It's in the air, in the headlines in the newspapers, in the blurry images on television. I am hindered by:

-Lack of the monies.
-Not being able to play computer games at all right now.
-My four-year-old laptop, which has seen far better days.
-Your mother.

However, I'll see what I can do when I get my priveleges reinstated. Also, Radio Spleen is - of course - open for use as a conduit of communication for this game. <p>-_-___-___-___-_-

Wait, monies? What monies? I thought someone somewhere said something about it being "free"? Oh well, that's what I get for having ADD. <p><div style="text-align:center">Image</div></p>

It will be free, for a while. Hence, open beta. Post beta, I imagine it will cost something.

Not really interested; got my own MMO addiction right now. <p>

I've got a D&D 3.5 campaign to run, anyway.

FUN FACT: My parents let me run my campaign because it involves people I know. They don't let me post on message boards like I'm doing right now because being social in an anonymous and inconsequential situation such as this does me no good as a human being :D <p>-_-___-___-___-_-
