Happy Birthday To Me!

Unread postby WillBaseton » Wed Jul 25, 2007 7:11 pm

...yep, I'm 22 today.

Seems like just yesterday I was lording it over people's heads that I could legitimately buy alcohol. Now the novelty's gone and the reality of post-21 unemployment has set in, whee!

...seriously, though, it's pretty cool. Although it makes me feel REALLY old to realize I've been here since I was a mid-teenager. >_>

Horray for you. I am soon to join you at that age, and yet have been unable to think of a single present I would like. What did you get/ask for?

Same as you, man. I couldn't think of anything, so I just asked the 'rents for some money to help cover my bills. Sadly, the joy of birthday presents doesn't work so well if you don't have any ideas for them, y'know?

I tend to disagree: I generally have no idea what I want, and so I don't ask for anything. On the occasions I get something anyway, it's never a disappointment. I've also learned this way that the people around me seem to know what I want better than I do. Whee!

Huh. Can't say I'm at a loss for wants, though the traditional birthday fallback in my family is going out to eat somewhere tasty (or buying something sweet, like a pie, and eating it all by yourself :D).

Paying bills is good stuff, too, though. One of my favorite gifts from 'rents while living alone was grocery gift cards, which I'd be sure to use to get some luxury foods, and would free up other monies for bills.

Happy birthday, Phil! You'll catch up one of these days.
