My Avatar

Unread postby Seethe » Thu Apr 12, 2007 12:11 am

For some reason, my avatar has gotten blurry-looking on my screen. I have reason to believe that this has something to do with my connection, but I need to know, does it look blurry to anyone else?

Looks fine to me. I suggest you try loading it separately and hard refreshing it by pressing Ctrl+F5. If that doesn't work, try clearing your cache out.

Actually, the reason it looks blurry for me is that I have my connection speed accelerated, so images don't load to full quality unless I specifically make them load at full quality. I just needed to be sure that was the reason it was blurry. Thanks for the help, though.

What the Hell is your avatar, anyway? I know you've had it for a while, but I've always wondered what the significance was of a nazi girl getting all cuddly with the earth was. Assuming there is any significance beyond that.
Anime is kind of like fish in that it is better the less "fishy" it is.

Dude. The significance goes way beyond that.

...

It's a cute nazi girl.

Edit: Also, the image is kind of the biggest insult to true Nazism one could possibly convey, if you think about it. Therefore, it's great.

It's only the biggest insult if she's a lesbian and black. And a Taoist.

As I understand, the swastika is also a Taoist symbol for the whole of creation. Maybe she is a Taoist. A Taoist dictator.

Uh... an elightened dictator. Who... loves everybody in the world. But not like that, you pervert.

Not Taoism, Dharmic religions. Hinduism and Buddhism mostly.

Then maybe she's pluralistic. Or multi-religioned. I'm sure the Nazis wouldn't approve of that.

Oh, there's a fetish involved. There definitely is a fetish involved.

She finds planets sexually attractive.

Brings a whole new meaning to earthmother religions.

And if you do find planet sex interesting, ask me about Gaia (Earth) and Uranus (Sky) getting it on.

Clearly the word in question is "Geophilic."

They both mean "Earth" in Greek, so both work fine. :D

Though given English connotations, "Geophilic" makes me assume a dirt fetish, not a whole-Earth one.

Geo would refer to the group itself, and possibly a country (if you were to say "this is my land" for example) while Gaia refers to the planet as a whole and specifically the mother goddess who forms the planet.

Gus is right, I think. Gaiaphile.

Also, I think dirt is pedalolo-. A dirt scientist is a pedalologist, I know that, so maybe a dirt lover would be a pedalolophile.
