A community dedicated to quality roleplaying

Another Newcomer

Hi there, I just found this forum by searching for Roleplaying related forums on the Yuku/EZboard search facility. Although I;m an old hand at RPing, pen and paper style, (favourites include AD&D, Runequest and particularly Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay), I've never roleplayed online, and I've never encountered people RPing in a forum either!
SO, what I want to know is:

What gameworlds are you gaming in? If you have your own gameworlds and rules, where are ...

Poll (actual poll on Livejournal, no account needed)

So I'm researching a question.

Please go to my LJ and follow the instructions there to answer this poll. Please do not post your responses here. I would also prefer that people not discuss their answers here so as not to influence "future voters."

The Backloggery

First off, the link:
http://backloggery.com/

This website is a place to keep track not just of your gaming collection, but also (more importantly) of what games you've finished and yet to finish. It's kinda neat. I found the site through a video game forum and End randomly found me there, and I was wondering who else here might have (or might get) an account

For the record:

So I gots me some Ubuntu...

So I got me an Ubuntu CD, but I admit I know next to nothing about this here "reformatting" and "repartitioning" whatnot and hoo-ha. If someone could give me some advice for cleaning up my computer and getting Windows XP off it so I can install my shiny new Linux, I'd appreciate it.

Then you might see more of me!

HOSHIT IKE!

I have a report from Oniichan (from another friend of his along the RP grapevine) that despite Houston getting totally pounded in the ass by Ike, Shaun is okay. No power or water, but okay.

Them's the news! Hopefully they'll get things back together down there soon. =/

I HAVE AN ANNOUNCEMENT TO MAKE.

Spore is okay, but hasn't lived up to its hype to the degree I was expecting. The editors are fun to use and very intuitive, but not worth the $50 price tag. Sad but true.

Spore - :( (Quite Possibly containing spoilers)

Right

So I bought spore two days ago, and I've been playing it avidly.

I've reached early civilization-mode and I'm a bit disappointed.

It's incredibly hard for me to do a creature that I want to do. I've got to carefully balance interaction with other species' less I plummet into carnivore; I'm trying to be an omnivore as my theme is a race of bird-people. The creature I created with the editor is my goal ...

Freaking the hell out!

Ok, ok. I think I'm going insane.

I just discovered that a weird folky-rock band from Liverpool has written a song called "Augustus Golden" (my actual name) back in 2004. That's the same year that two of my friends went to Liverpool to study at university, as well as I started working for a guy who used to be well known on the Liverpudlian rock scene. However, since I can't get in contact with them, ...
