First of all, a warning: of all the people whom I've shown this story to at school, 100% said they did not understand it at all (really). If it makes any of the below any the more sensible, realize that the entire story is written from Adrian's perspective who is, quite obviously, not sane.

First things first. I'm not really sure what right I have to post a fic here and expect any response, since I've been horribly negligent to this forum However, I thought I'd give this sort of thing a shot, and see what people thought. I mean, the only way to get better as a writer is to share your work, right?

Secondly, this is the backstory I wrote up for my second philsys character, ...

"So things were like this. It was just the four of us, out in some forsaken dimension, hunting down a rogue Dragon God going by the name of Horidanu the Flame. He had been spreading a little too far for his own good, muscling into other peoples territory, seemed he thought he was hot enough push in. Now let me tell you that's not to bright, thinking and knowing are two different things.

What am I?

That thought repeats through my being, what am I? But, what is my being? What is thought? My? What does my mean?

I feel... something? That feeling fascinates me. What is it? How is it? It feels... good? What is good? What does it all mean?

Then I percieve. It shines ...

Today was an especially miserable day for those sleeping in the streets. The winter was even harsher than usual, the cobblestone being buried under a foot of snow, and many of the little sheltered areas that tramps and vagabonds could use as a place of rest were now rendered null. This, of course, led to competition for living space.

He found himself face down in the snow, the white before his eyes slowly being dyed ...

(This is something I wrote a while back, about a year before coming to RPGWW. This was recently ressurected for my Creative writing class, and I thought you might enjoy it as well. This was the Pirate we all know and love long before white magic or Gaera was introduced to his character.
